The final step is to cut the wood in to different sizes and sand it to eliminate sharp edges. There is no chemical treatment. They come from arabica trees grown in the mountain regions. Wood from this geographical area is generally much harder and less likely to split. Coffee trees grow in mountainous tropical climate regions. The wood is very hard and resistant. The wood is sanded directly at the factory by qualified workers. Regular pruning of plantations and replacement of non-fruiting coffee trees produces a surplus of coffee wood that is harvested in an environmentally friendly manner. Timber harvesting is limited to old and unproductive trees. Trees are never cut or uprooted for the sole purpose of making them a commercial product."
